Are you tired of having a smelly litter box at home? You’re not alone. As a cat parent myself, I know the struggles of keeping a litter box clean, whether I’m dealing with one cat or a dozen! And it’s just as hard for our fur babies who can be finicky about where they relieve themselves. Fortunately, I’ve finally found what works for me (and my kitty)! After having tried and tested it for a month, here’s my personal review on the Tidy cats breeze litter box system.
Product Overview
The Tidy Cat Breeze Litter Box System takes an innovative spin to your usual cleaning routine. With a regular litter box, you have to scoop both your feline’s solid and liquid wastes. With the Tidy Cat Breeze Litter Box System, however, these are separated.
You will still need to scoop the solid waste. But the liquid waste goes straight to the pee pads, which you will find at the very bottom of the litter box. This very system right here–plus the tools that come with it–makes for an odorless and efficient cleaning routine.
So, what’s included in the system?
- Litter box
- Litter scoop
- Litter pellets
- Cat pee pads
Tidy Cat Breeze Litter Box System
Tidy Cat Breeze Litter Box
The litter box itself contains three parts: sidewall, base, and drawer. Everything came disassembled upon delivery of the product. Putting them together was pretty intuitive though. The product came with easy-to-follow instructions, too!
Sidewall
The sidewall, or the corners of the litter box, basically sits right on top of the base. It’s just the right height to give our cat enough privacy as she does her business. It also keeps the pellets right where they should be: inside the box. Our cat tends to kick away the pellets a bit too hard sometimes, so there was no sweeping necessary this time!
The scoop also comes with a hook on the back. You can hang it on the sidewall to avoid misplacing it. But my cat gets a little bothered by anything hanging on her litter box. So I have a separate container for the scoop.
I also had the option to buy the Tidy Cat Breeze Hooded Litter Box system, which was the closed litter box version. But I thought the cover would be too much work to clean. Plus, I’ve always used an open litter box for my fur baby anyway.
The Base
Basically, the base is where the Tidy Cats Breeze Cat Litter Pellets sit. It resembles a sieve to sift my cat’s liquid waste from the solid waste. When our cat pees, instead of forming a clump, it seeps through the holes of the base. Now, all I need to scoop regularly is the solid waste.
The Tray
The tray is where the cat pee pad goes, specifically the Purina breeze pad. It catches and absorbs all liquid waste. The tray can be rotated to extend the life of the pad without holding the pad itself. This is useful whenever my cat ends up peeing in the same spot. Pulling it in and out was also easy, and it contained the smell of the urine well.
The whole unit felt steady and sturdy after setting it up. Then, I placed just enough pellets inside the litter box and a sheet of the peed pad in the drawer.
What do I really think of Tidy cats breeze litter box system?
The whole system works as promised. It made my whole cleaning routine much easier and faster! There was less odor too, since the litter box contains the smell of urine well. But I still had to deal with the smell of my fur baby’s solid waste and made sure to scoop these out regularly.
As for my cat? She adjusted quite quickly to her new litter box.
Pros:
- Sturdy
- No sweeping of litter necessary
- Contains liquid waste odor
Cons:
- General cleaning requires disassembling everything
- Cleaning the base can be tedious due to the holes
Tidy Cats Breeze Cat Litter
As Tidy Cats claims, this product is specifically made to work with the Tidy Cat Breeze Litter Box System. The pellets are pretty large in size to prevent clumping and litter tracking (when litter sticks to your kitty’s paws!). It also dehydrates solid waste for easier scooping.
The Verdict
There is certainly no clumping or tracking given the size of the pellets. It keeps my fur baby’s paws clean, which is definitely a plus for me. Some cat owners say it absorbs the odor as well, but I’ve noticed there’s still a bit of smell. Maybe it’s the pellets’ size that keeps my cat from covering up her waste, or perhaps I need to wait it out until the pellets absorb the smell completely.
I’m just not a fan of leaving waste for too long in the litter box. I like to keep things clean.
Pros:
- No clumping
- No tracking
- Dehydrates solid waste
Cons:
- Doesn’t hide solid waste odor completely
- Not recommended for cats that love to chew on things
Tidy Cats Breeze Cat Pads
Just like the pellets, the Tidy Cats Breeze Cat Pads is specifically made for the Tidy Cat Breeze Litter Box System. It has a fresh scent, absorbs urine well, and prevents ammonia odor for 7 days.
Cleaning is as simple as replacing it once a week!
The Verdict
These Purina breeze pads absorb my cat’s liquid waste really well. I love how it’s scented, too! There was a little smell whenever I pulled out the drawer, but it did say it’s meant to “control” the odor, not make it disappear. As long as the drawer is kept closed, it’s not a problem.
The instructions say to change the pad every 7 days. Personally, I change it every 3 days. Again, I like to keep it clean. But you don’t have to do the same especially if you’re on a budget.
Pros:
- Highly absorbent
- Controls odor
- Scented
Cons:
- A bit pricey (or maybe I just replace it too quickly)

With this product, you no longer have to dig through the litter box for clumps. You can also say goodbye to tracking! Overall, the Tidy Cat Breeze Litter Box System is an awesome cat litter deodorizer you might just be looking for.
